Throughout California Wine Month, which
was September, we accepted recipes from fans through our Facebook Page of what they felt were the perfect pairings with <a href="http://www.cosentinowi
nery.com/2008-cosentino-winery-cigarzin?affiliate_id=506&utm_source=Blog&utm_medium=SocialMedia&utm_campaign=CigarZinRecipe”>Cosentino CigarZin. From all of the submissions, we narrowed it down to a final 3 and then Mitch chose the winner.
Fragrant floral notes of black fruit, spice and black pepper set the stage for this lush old vine Zinfandel. Extremely rich and well structured with more exotic fruit characteristics than most Zinfandels, the wine’s profile is centered on a core of ripe blackberry and boysenberry with notes of cherry kirsch, clove and pepper. The extremely approachable finish displays dense layers of boysenberry jam and cocoa powder.
The recipes will be posted shortly on the web. In the meantime, listen as Mitch discusses the finalists’ recipes and continue to share with us some of your favorite foods that you like to eat with CigarZin in the comments below.

HI- I own the Mass Ave Wine Shoppe Cafe & Spirits in Indianapolis and our Culinary Diva Lisa Cunningham was the 3rd place winner in your recipe contest. When can we see ALL of the recipes posted– including Lisa’s? We are VERY proud of her and she does an AMAZING job with our menu. If you are ever in the Indy area we would love to have you stop by for a bite to eat and a glass of wine. Your “Ol Red” is a customer fave!
peace-
Jill
