Cellar Activity and Harvest Preparation

Just a quick update from the cellar, friends:

We clomid dosage for men have been finishing up on some new blends for upcoming bottlings in the winery. From this point forward, though, our focus will be on the ripening vineyards and the 2012 Harvest which is starting this week.

Sauvignon Blanc is the first variety ready in what has, to this point, been an ideal growing season. Clear, moderate weather has seemingly created a normal crop following two small harvests. Keep your fingers crossed that this season continues as it has for the next 6-7 weeks and we could have a remarkable vintage. As most of you know, we use Sauvignon Blanc in our white Meritage blend, The Novelist. The other component of this wine

includes Semillon which is not quite ready yet to harvest. It is essential in great Sauternes from Bordeaux and quite magical with Sauvignon Blanc in white wines. It gives the wine broadness, depth and complexity. Semillon also adds to the longevity of these blends even when it is the smaller portion of the blend. White Meritage wines sometimes get lumped into the Sauvignon Blanc category but are really different animals in much the same way that Gew├╝rztraminer is not Riesling.

Chardonnay will be up next in about 10 days to two weeks time. Be sure to check back here and on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagr.am pages for up-to-date photos, information and stories about this year's harvest. What are you most interested in seeing? Let us know in the comments below.

I am anxious to find out when and if you will be selling your 2010 Cigarzin on your website anytime soon.

Hi Hank, the 2010 vintage was very small, and therefore sold only in the tasting room for a limited time, and there is no more available. Next vintage due out is going to be the 2011 which is in the bottle with some significant packaging changes. Stay tuned!
